Kyiv may stay in the "red" zone of epidemic danger for a month as Ukraine 24 TV channel reported citing city mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.

“It all depends on the numbers we get from the morbidity and the occupancy of beds, but experts preliminary say that this can continue for a month. Indeed, if within two-three weeks we see a downward trend, if the criteria are included in the "orange" zone, then we will propose to the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies to lower the status of the zone,” Klitschko said.

He added that no decrease in dynamics is observed in the capital yet. Besides, he stated that according to the virologists, Kyiv has not reached the peak of incidence with coronavirus yet.

As we reported, 19,455 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Ukraine during the past 24 hours. Particularly, 700 people died. During the past 24 hours, the majority of the cases were registered in Odesa (+1,908), Dnipropetrovsk (+1,621), Zaporizhia (+1,341), Kharkiv (+1,337) regions, and in Kyiv (+1,738).
