Kyiv ranked 173rd in quality of living ranking

Austria’s capital Vienna, Swiss Zurich, and Canadian Vancouver were recognized as the safest cities

Kyiv placed 173rd out of 231 in the quality of living ranking, as Mercer company reported.

The researches estimated the cities under the following criteria: leisure, public services and transport, social and cultural environment, medical service, political and social environment, nature, accommodation, economy, access to consumer goods.

Austria’s capital Vienna, Swiss Zurich, and Canadian Vancouver were recognized most safe.

This year the company created a rating of most safe cities. Luxembourg is on the top of it, Syrian Damascus is the most unsafe.

The cities were assessed by the level of internal stability, crime, the position of the law enforcement agencies, restriction of personal freedom. Besides, freedom of speech and censorship in media were taken into account.

Earlier it was reported, that Ukraine improved its position in the corruption perception rating. According to Transparency International, Ukraine got the 120th level among 180 states.
