Kyiv moved to the 110th place in the ranking

Kyiv left top-10 cheapest cities and moved from the 124th place to the 110th according to Worldwide Cost of Living 2018, made by The Economist.

The cheapest city is the capital of Syria, Damascus. Top-10 cheapest are Caracas, Almaty, Lagos, Bengaluru, Karachi, Algeria, Chennai, Bucharest, and New Deli.

New York’s quality of life was taken as the basis of the ranking. 133 cities were included into the ranking.

Top-10 most expensive cities are Singapore, Paris, Zurich, Hong Kong, Oslo, Geneva, Seoul, Copenhagen, Tel-Aviv, and Sydney.

According to the researchers, the main reason for changes in the ranking is a currency movement.

Due to the dollar’s fall none of USA cities did not get into top-10. Experts note, that cost of living in the city depends on its location on the map: service prices is a key factor for European cities, product prices – for Asian.

As it was reported, Kyiv was declared the cheapest city for tourism in 2018.
