Pechersk district court of Kyiv decided to detain Petro Oliynuk, who is accused of assaulting a police officer during the protests near the Verkhovna Rada, according to our reporter.

The defence asked for any other preventive measure, but detention. However, the court ruled on keeping him in detention for two months. The lawyers are to appeal the decision.

As it was reported earlier, three people were arrested during the protests. Protests near the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine are ongoing, as former Odesa region governor Mikheil Saakashvili gathered his allies together with a number of oppositional politicians. The activists stood for the so-called “big political reform”. At the moment, there are about 60 people rallying.
