The sixth Kyiv Court of Appeal rejected a lawsuit on the possible cancellation of the registration of Volodymyr Zelensky as a presidential candidate.
“The circumstances indicated by the plaintiff can only be the reason for the warning, but not for the cancellation of registration of the candidate. The claim cannot be satisfied,” the judge said.
The court pointed out that according to the law of Ukraine, the reasons for cancelation of the registration of a presidential candidate can be his own wish to withdraw his candidature, termination of citizenship of Ukraine, leaving Ukraine for permanent residence elsewhere.
The observer of the elections from the social organization Ukrainian association of the actioners Andriy Khylko filed the lawsuit. He was outraged due to the fact that Zelensky gave tickets to the presidential debates at the NSC Olympiysky for free. Khylko believed that this was a violation of the law and vote-buying attempt.
At the same time, Zelensky's chief lawyer, Vadym Halaychuk, said that this lawsuit has no prospect and is totally groundless.
According to the lawyer, plaintiff Khylko is famous for many such lawsuits, in particular, he filed a lawsuit that the meeting between Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron was as if the pre-election agitation.
The Administration of the President of Ukraine denied information that Khylko is the lawyer of Petro Poroshenko.
