State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) together with one of the largest construction American companies Bechtel Overseas Corporation will cooperate within the implementation of the construction project of the Kyiv by-pass road. The sides have signed the memorandum on mutual understanding on cooperation in the fulfillment of the project as Ukravtodor reported.
“Ukravtodor and Bechtel Overseas Corporation have signed a memorandum on cooperation within the implementation of the construction project of the road bypassing around Kyiv,” the message said.
According to Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, the construction of the Kyiv by-pass road will allow to solve hot-button transport problems of the capital and improve the international highway service.
Within the project, the construction of a 150-km half-ring that will put the transit flows outside Kyiv and it will unite key roads M-07 Kyiv-Kovel, M-06 Kyiv-Chop, M05 Kyiv-Odesa, and H-01 Kyiv-Znamianka. It will also unite H-08 Boryspil-Mariupol and M-03 Kyiv-Kharkiv roads.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, the highway would be built that ‘unites east and west of the country’.
