In Kyiv, businessmen are suspected of stealing UAH 20 million ($758,000), allocated for the protection of classified information in state authorities, the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reports.

"Kyiv businessmen who stole funds allocated for the protection of classified information circulating in state institutions and law enforcement agencies of Ukraine have been exposed. According to preliminary information, the attackers caused the state losses of UAH 20 million," the statement reads.

It is noted that the theft of funds was due to fraud with the cost of work: the attackers inflated the prices for their own services. The criminals withdrew the illegally obtained funds through fictitious enterprises.

The organizers of the corruption scheme were a Kyiv private company that passed the certification of the State Special Communications Service and has the appropriate license.

In addition, during the search, law enforcement officers found stored information marked "secret" on unregistered media, which contradicts legal documents in the field of protection of state secrets.

Currently, 2 directors of fictitious enterprises have been informed about the suspicion of forgery of documents submitted for state registration of a legal entity under Part 2 of Article 205-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
