Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kyiv bank Finance and Credit Oleh Shapkin was detained in St. Petersburg. This was reported by Interfax with reference to its source.

Officially report says that a 53-year-old citizen of the Russia’s neighboring country wanted on suspicion of misappropriation and embezzlement of funds was arrested.

“During searches, the officers of Interpol Department of the Internal Ministry of Russian Federation in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region detained a 53-year-old citizen of one of the adjacent republics at the Moika river embankment. It is established that he is wanted by law enforcement agencies of his country for misappropriation and embezzlement. He was arrested. The detainee was taken to the territorial police department. The initiator of the search has been informed,” press service of Russian Internal Ministry department reported.

Interfax reported with reference to its source that the detained is the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kyiv bank Finance and Credit Oleh Shapkin.

The bank Finance and Credit, according to the National Bank of Ukraine, is placed 13 among 173 acting banks of the country based on the information on assets as of July 1, 2014.

As it was reported earlier Interpol will help Ukraine in tracing of 52 pictures. The approximate valuation of the pictures is 1 billion 324 00 of dollars.
