Kyiv authority appealed to a court to make Naftogaz sign an agreement on the gas supply of Kyiv Teploenergo and prevent a blackout of thermal power plants, which produce power for the capital. Vitali Klitschko, Kyiv Mayor, said it on air of one of TV channels, as Kyiv City Administration press office reports.
“We have to appeal to the court to prevent the stopover of gas supply to the thermal power plants, which produce not only thermal but also electric energy. I hope that the lawsuit will be considered soon and we will solve the issue of the absence of hot water in the capital. To pay someone’s debts? Sorry, 1 billion 200 million is ten new kindergartens! Kievans do not have to pay for the consequences of the economic activity of the private companies,” he noted.
Earlier, around 3,000 dwellings in Kyiv are left without hot water because Naftogaz refused to make a deal with of Kyiv Teploenergo concerning natural gas supply.
The representatives of Naftogaz company explain that they cannot do this due to a fact that the energy enterprise has debts. Kyiv Teploenergo informs that they do not have funds to pay off debts.
The Chairman of Kyiv City Administration has stated multiple timed that the city cannot take upon the debts of a private company, which were accumulating within years. Yet, the Administration is opened for a constructive dialogue.
