The city authorities did not cope well with the organization of traveling using special passes in the capital’s transport. The situation needs to be corrected urgently. The President's Office stated this.
"All public transport journeys can be used only with special passes in Kyiv from April 5. Printing special passes, organizing their issuance, and providing special passes to all employees of critical infrastructure sectors are the responsibility of the Kyiv authorities. We are forced to state that this task was not executed properly. We see that some medical workers were left without special passes. We consider such a situation unacceptable," the President's Office said.
The office called on the Kyiv authorities to urgently rectify the situation by providing the city residents with special passes for the use of public transport following the established procedure.
"A sufficient number of transport units on the routes must be provided. We urge the city authorities to inform the heads of enterprises and organizations in Kyiv, which can be transferred to remote work, about the need to provide such a regime for their employees," the President's Office added.
As it was reported, the work of surface and underground transport was restricted in Kyiv from April 5. Only citizens with a special permit can use the metro and routed taxis; officers of the National Guard and municipal guard are on watch near the metro stations.
