Ukrainian businessman Serhiy Kurchenko filed a lawsuit against Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko for slander about his ties with Mikheil Saakashvili. This was reported by Country.ua news agency with reference to the press service of Kurchenko.
"Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko on December 5, in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine irresponsibly stated that Sergei Kurchenko financed the protests of Mikhail Saakashvili aimed at overthrowing the existing government," the statement said.
"I don’t not know Saakashvili and I do not want to know him. But I do know Poroshenko and very well at that," businessman said. According to him, in 2013 he bought from Poroshenko UMH group media holding for 400 million dollars. In addition, he states that the president did not pay taxes to the budget of Ukraine after the sale. Lutsenko called the accusations "drunken ravings."
"It seems that Yuriy Lutsenko made a statement while in drunken intoxication after another binge with his drinking companion Poroshenko. This alcoholic pair play on nerves of our whole country, people and on my nerves, that I am filing a claim to protect my honor and dignity from Lutsenko’s slander," he said.
Earlier Kurchenko filed a lawsuit against Petro Poroshenko on defending his honor and his business reputation. The case hearing is scheduled for April 4, 2018.
As it was reported earlier Mikheil Saakashvili, the former head of Odesa Regional Administration claimed that the accusations of the Prosecutor’s General Office of his ties with oligarch Sergy Kurchenko are fake.
