It is noted that Kremlin is at a loss why Germany and the U.S. forward claims only to Russia. Peskov believes that Ukraine should be also called for a “responsible position”.

As we reported, Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor confirmed her country's stance on keeping the gas transit across Ukraine after the Nord Stream 2 pipeline is launched.

Later, she added that the Nord Stream 2 should complement, not completely replace, gas transit through Ukraine, as another scenario will cause tensions.

The U.S. and Germany agreed that it is necessary to continue the transit of Russian gas via Ukrainian territory after 2024 in interests of Ukraine and Europe.
