Kremlin is not ready yet to speak about the possibility to exchange 23 Russians convicted in Ukraine for movie maker Oleg Sentsov and other Ukrainian citizens as the special task group considers such issues. Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson of the Russian president claimed this as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
Peskov commented the statement of the Vice Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko, that Kyiv is ready to pass 23 Russians convicted in Ukraine for the exchange of Sentsov and other Ukrainians.
'I cannot answer this question. You know that there is a special task group that considers this. Also, Medvechuk considers this issue from the Ukrainian side. He has already contributed to the holding of the number of the successful operations so all peculiarities of the case, such as who will be exchanged and so on will be discussed by the specialists and representatives within the existing task group. I cannot tell you anything without any grounds'.
Earlier Gerashchenko claimed that Ukraine will appeal to the European colleagues with an urge to address to Russia’s President Vladimir Putin with a request before the 2018 FIFA World Cup to pardon the Ukrainian citizens in the Russian prisons.
