Head of the Ukrainian delegation at the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas (TCG) Leonid Kravchuk has urged the representatives of occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions to release four severely ill citizens of Ukraine as the Ukrainian delegation reported.
Kravchuk has asked to release POWs to enable Ukraine to provide the proper treatment.
“During today’s consultations of the TCG in the format of the video-conference, Kravchuk has urged to release four citizens of Ukraine kept by occupation authorities of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and who stay in severe health state, for provision of proper treatment to them,” the message says.
Considering the beginning of vacations and school holidays, Kravchuk, referring to the humanitarian law, also has urged to unblock the work of the checkpoints.
The Ukrainian side also continues to insist on the necessity of the further soon release of prisoners, creation of the international group of experts in the trilateral format Ukraine-Russia-OSCE for estimation of environmental risks from the uncontrolled flooding of mines in the temporarily occupied territories, and a number of other initiatives.
On May 21, 2021, it was reported that 285 people are on Ukraine’s list on prisoner swap with occupied Donbas militants. There are 90 militants. The principle “all for all” should be used to return Ukrainian citizens.
