The Prosecutor General's Office reported suspicion to two police officers in the investigation of a deadly shootout incident in the village of Kniazhychi near Kyiv, which occurred in December last year. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office press service.
Two ex-heads of police units of the Kyiv region were informed of the suspicion. According to the prosecutor’s office, they "exceeding their authority, actively promoted the illegal use of firearms" in Kniazhychi on December 4, 2016. The offense provided for in Part 3 of Article 365 (excess of authority, which caused severe consequences) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As it was reported earlier 5 law enforcement officers were killed in shootout in Kniazhychi as a result of a shootout between members of the State Security Service and policemen in the Kniazhychi village of Brovary district in Kyiv region on December 4 at night. Two employees of government security service, two police officers and a member of Special Forces KORD scouts were killed in a shootout.
