Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko requested the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to dissolve the Kyiv City Council of VIII convocation, which has not gathered the quorum to hold another session, as the Kyiv City State Administration reported.
“The MPs should be responsible before people who chose them! They should not be guided by political conditions and personal interests. Today we see that there is no quorum in the hall. Not everyone is ready to work. So, I appeal to the parliament concerning the dissolution of Kyiv City Council of eights convocation and appointment of snap elections in Kyiv! Not you may go and tell Kyiv citizens how you worked. And why you think that you will be chosen again,” Klitschko said.
The mayor noted that it is necessary to adopt the decisions important for the capital and Kyiv citizens: social expenditures, transport workers wages, allowances to the teachers.
“Besides, the heating season is coming and there are some urgent issues of the preparation to it. We also have to work on the Kyiv budget for the next year. These issues should be considered urgently! But everything is done to destabilize the situation in the capital. Kyiv citizens should suffer in the result. And it worries me the most,” Klitschko noted.
He underlined that every lawmaker in his district should be asked by the voters on his work and whose interests he put over the interests of Kyiv citizens.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the dismissal of Vitaly Klitschko, the Head of Kyiv City State Administration and sent the submission of the government to the sign of President Zelensky.
In his turn, Klitschko stated he finds the decision on his dismissal to be illegal and only Kyiv citizens might dismiss him.
