Mayor of Kyiv Vitaly Klitschko and his brother Volodymyr filed the lawsuit against 1+1 TV channel. Klitschko, Sr. said this during the press conference in Kyiv on July 26. It was broadcasted on his Facebook page.
“My brother and I filed the lawsuit against 1+1 TV channel, which badmouths us. They decided not to stop on me and got on to my brother Volodymyr. How can we talk about impartiality of the channel when its leader is not only the representative of political powers, but he is also called as the main candidate for the post of the Head of Kyiv City State Administration,” Klitschko said.
The Mayor noted he was indifferent to ambitions of different contenders for the post, but he would not let bury his reputation.
“I worked for it (reputation - 112 International) a lot and I will protect myself in lawful manners,” Klitschko added.
In addition, the mayor emphasized that in this case, he did not speak about freedom of expression attack.
As it was reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to fire Vitali Klitschko from the office of Kyiv City State Administration.
