Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko congratulated Ukrainians on the Kyiv Day and expressed confidence that the capital has a great future, which is jointly built by city’s people and authorities. He said this during the events on the occasion of the Day of Kyiv, taking place in the fan zone of UEFA Champions Festival on Khreshchatyk Street, the mayor’s press service reported.
The mayor noted that the holiday was special. “Yesterday we hosted the most prestigious football event - UEFA Champions League final, so that both Kyivans and Ukrainians from different parts of the country could enjoy the atmosphere of our blossoming capital, and tens of thousands of foreign visitors from all over the world! And we held such a big event on the very a high level, according to the UEFA president and many guests of the city, foreign fans, Kyivans,” Vitaliy Klitschko said.
He added that he was in many cities of the world, but Kyiv is the best and most beautiful. "It is here where there are unique streets and squares, churches and ancient architecture, fascinating history, the mighty Dnipro River and green hills. But the main wealth of our city is its people - sympathetic, sincere, hospitable and with a good sense of humor!" the mayor said.
The mayor of the capital expressed confidence that Kyiv is a truly European city in which you want to live, work, have fun and connect the dreams and future with. "And I am convinced that our city has a great future, and we will build it all together!"

As it was reported earlier, Kyivans mark Kyiv Day today. Traditionally, this day is celebrated on the last weekend of May. The Kyiv City Administration announced a series of events to be held in Kyiv dedicated to the holiday.
