Klimkin: Ukraine prepares to expand sanctions list against Russia

According to the Foreign Minister, decision on strengthening of sanctions will be made due to detention of Ukrainian hostages by Russia

Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin claimed about the preparation of amendments to the sanctions list against Russia in connection with the imprisonment of Ukrainian citizens.

It was reported by the "BBC Ukraine."

"Right now we are preparing new additions to the sanctions list," information service quoted Klimkin.

"We will try to adapt this list as far as we have clear evidence that anyone was involved in the process regarding Ukrainian political prisoners. Because in order to put a person on the sanctions list we need real proof." Foreign Minister said.

He also noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs verifies information concerning Ukrainian prisoners not only from relatives but also from international human rights organizations, lawyers.
