So, at the court session, the defenders insisted that Kravchenko's guilt in violating fire safety requirements had not been proven, there were no results of a number of examinations. Kravchenko himself claimed that his affairs in the home were limited to the execution of some of his wife's orders, such as the delivery of food.
The prosecutor's office noted that Kravchenko found a nursing home, signed a lease agreement with its owner and, together with his wife, was looking for clients.
On January 21, the two-story building in Kharkiv rebuilt into the house for elderly people caught on fire.
Department of Social Protection of the Population of Kharkiv Regional State Administration of Kharkiv Region said that there were no registered institutions for the elderly at the address where the fire broke out.
