Gianni Buquicchio, the Chairman of the Venice Commission assured Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine of the further cooperation and support of Ukraine in its European strivings as the press service of the Ukrainian president reported.
Buquicchio noted that the commission will continue to cooperate with Ukraine in its European strivings and he also claimed that the implementation of the judicial reform and new Supreme court is very important not only for the Ukrainians but also for the foreign investors.
'The justice is the precondition for the attraction of the investors', he noted.
Poroshenko noted that it is a great day for the judicial system of Ukraine when the old corrupted, inefficient and unfair court system should leave.
Buquicchio supported the words of Poroshenko and said that this day came due to the initiative of the Ukrainian president on the court reform.
He also noted the efficient cooperation between Ukraine and the commission and pointed that he follows the development of Ukraine since 1996.
Earlier Petro Poroshenko claimed that he will submit his draft law on the Anti-corruption court to the Ukrainian Parliament next week.
As we reported the new Supreme Court of Ukraine started to work on December 15. According to the law on the structure of court and status of judges, taking into account the amendments that come to force today, Dec. 15, the Supreme Court is the only court of cassation in Ukraine.
