The disengagement of forces has begun in Zolote, Luhansk region, at 12:00 p.m. as the HQ of the Joint Forces Operation reported on Facebook.

“On October 29, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. the process of the disengagement of forces from both sides (mirror-like) at area #2 near Zolote-4, Luhansk region has begun. It became possible due to the maintenance of the ceasefire during the last week,” the message said.

It is noted that the OSCE SMM confirmed the beginning of the division of forces and equipment.

Ukrainian side assumed all actions and the disengagement will not weaken the defense capabilities of Ukrainian detachments at the mentioned area. Besides, the authority will not leave the local citizens neglected as all actions take place to provide the security in this area, keep the life and health of civilians and the military.

The HQ underlined that the shelling report during the past 24 hours took place outside the division area.

Earlier Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko stated that the process of the disengagement of forces and equipment in Zolote village in the Luhansk region has begun, the next disengagement would be in Petrivske.

As we reported earlier, on October 1, the sides agreed on the beginning of the disengagement of the forces in Zolote (Luhansk region) and Petrovske (Donetsk region) during the Trilateral Contact Group session.

However, on October 9, the clash took place between the police officers, volunteers, and veterans who want to enter Zolote to prevent the disengagement of forces at the checkpoint in Kreminna, Luhansk region.
