“The scope of applicants eligible for multiple entry visas for the short-term stay with business purposes and for cultural and intellectual figures will be expanded, and in addition, the validity period of the visas will be extended from 3 years to 5 years maximum. The multiple entry visas (terms of validity: 3 years, period of stay: 30 days maximum) for the short-term stay (for various purposes, including tourism) will be newly introduced in addition to existing single entry visas. The letter of reference from guarantor will be abolished for applicants of visas for the short-term stay in case they travel to Japan using their own financial support,” the statement says.
The Embassy noted that the improvement of conditions for tourists, entrepreneurs, an increase of the people who visit Japan more than once, a further strengthening of the interpersonal contacts after this moment would come into force.
Foreign Ministry of Ukraine noted that a discussion of the expansion of the visa regime between Japan and Ukraine was made during the visit of Kazuyuki Nakane, the Japanese Foreign Minister to Kyiv on November 9th.
