The representatives of Japanese Embassy in Ukraine held a meeting in the Ministry of Energy and Coal Mining of Ukraine. They have reached an agreement on mutual cooperation in updating of equipment for nuclear industry, as the press-office of Ukraine’s Government reported.

“Japanese side informed about its intentions to cooperate with Ukraine in cooperation concerning the updating of equipment for nuclear industry, including the production and modernization of turbines, for nuclear-energy facilities in third countries in particular and announced the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Turboatom and Toshiba Energy Systems, which is scheduled for June 2018,” the message says.

Besides, the representatives of the Ministry stressed that Ukrainian side was interested in cooperating with other states concerning the instrumentation, development and updating of the energy field.

“For today, 15 Ukrainian nuclear power plants ensure the production of more than 56% of electric power out of the country’s power-supply balance,” the message says.
