Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) coronavirus vaccine will not appear in Ukraine soon. Ihor Kuzin, the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine stated this, Ukraine 24 reports.
According to Kuzin, Ukraine is currently in talks. However, it is not worth hoping that the vaccine will soon appear in Ukraine.
"There are several problems. First, Johnson & Johnson is the only single-dose vaccine. This is its appeal, because so many countries want a single-dose vaccine that can be used very quickly. Unfortunately, the manufacturer produces quite a small amount, and that is why we are currently only negotiating the supply of such vaccines in Ukraine," Kuzin said.
He also noted that 390 people have already received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Ukraine. This became possible for employees of one of the private companies, the vaccination of which was funded by the United States.
“We already have experience when, at the expense of the United States, a private company was vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. This is about 390 people who received such a vaccine, and now negotiations are underway,” Kuzin said.
As we reported earlier, Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) Covid-19 vaccine for emergency medical use was registered in Ukraine.
"On July 2, 2021, the Ministry of Health in Ukraine registered the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine against Covid-19 for emergency medical use," the statement said.
