Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) Covid-19 vaccine for emergency medical use has been registered in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.

"On July 2, 2021, the Ministry of Health in Ukraine registered the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine against Covid-19 for emergency medical use," the statement said.

Janssen is a vector vaccine developed by Janssen, owned by Johnson & Johnson. The vaccine contains a neutralized human adenovirus, into which the DNA encoding the SARS-CoV-2 virus protein is embedded. It requires a storage temperature of +2 to +8 ⁰С. For complete immunization, one dose is enough.

Meanwhile, over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian doctors confirmed 244 new cases of Covid-19, including 5 children. 

333 people have been taken to hospitals during this period; 14 patients deceased, and 419 recovered. 17,351 tests have been taken.

Most of the confirmed cases have been observed in Kyiv city (101), Zhytomyr (17), Odesa (16), Kyiv (15) and Vinnytsia (11) regions.
