In Ivano-Frankivsk region, due to low salaries, medical workers are forced to leave Ukraine and look for a job abroad. The nurse of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Hospital of War Veterans Maria Kryvonos said this on the air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"Yes, they are quitting. We have a small hospital, but workers are leaving because of low salaries," Kryvonos said.
The nurse added that some of those healthcare workers go abroad - to Israel and Italy. However there they try other jobs.
With 15 years of experience and the first qualification category, a medical worker receives $155 per month.
“We received additional payments only in September, October and November. These were separate payments. For example, in September I received about $ 70,” Kryvonos said.
As we reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers has announced an increase in salaries of medical workers by 30% in 2021.
"In 2021, Ukraine will have record expenditures on medicine. Almost 160 billion hryvnias (5,7 billion dollars). This is 30 billion more than in 2020 and almost 65 billion more than in 2019. That is, in the next two years, funding for medicine will be increased by more than 60%,” Prime Minister Denys Shmygal noted.
