Office of the President of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the war in eastern Ukraine is a war in Europe. He said so during his speech at the Munich security conference, which was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.

"It is not correct to say the war in Ukraine, this - the war in Europe and it, along with the annexation of the Crimea has been going on as long as the Second World War," Zelensky said.

The president also added that Ukraine, like no other, seeks to stop this war.

"We will be happy when references to Ukraine as a zone of insecurity disappear altogether from any international reports. But this should only happen when lasting peace reigns in the Donbas and Ukraine resumes its territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders," he noted.

As we reported before, on February 15, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko met with German counterpart Heiko Maas.

Maas noted that Germany supports Ukraine on its path to reform and an end to the conflict in the Donbas.
