Ukrainian diplomats are actively working to make the meeting between Ukrainian and US presidents possible before the encounter between Trump and Russian president, as it was announced by Kremlin before G20 summit, which is to take place in Hamburg on July 7-8.
This was reported in an interview to Hromadkse by Kostiantyn Yelisieiev, the Deputy Head of Presidential Administration of Ukraine.
"Our diplomacy is actively working to make this meeting happen as soon as possible. But it is very important that this happens before future meeting between Trump and Putin," he said.
At the same time, Deputy Head of Presidential Administration noted that the preparation of the meeting between Poroshenko and Trump was one of the tasks during recent visit of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Klimkin to Washington. He added that administration is considering the meeting in terms of Poroshenko’s future visit to Washington.
