Scientists from Israel, Ruth Arnon and Tamar Ben-Yedidiya, are completing the development of a vaccine effective against all strains of influenza. This is reported by Detali agency.

Development began 20 years ago and after half a year there should be a final result. The BiondVax company, headed by Dr. Ron Babekov, undertook the implementation of this project.

If the effectiveness of the vaccine is proven, then permission to use it will be issued within the next year and it will replace the existing vaccine, which can only fight a limited number of types of influenza.

"If everything goes as it should, the flu vaccine will appear earlier than the coronavirus vaccine," said Ruth Arnon.

As we reported, Israel intended to start the trial of the vaccine against coronavirus on people this summer as The Jerusalem Post reported.

“Scientists racing toward a vaccine against COVID-19 at Israel's MigVax will initiate human trials during the summer months,” the message said.

It is noted that the testing of the vaccine on rodents is planned for May. The first stage of the trial on human will begin in summer and will last from six up to nine months.

According to senior Migvax researcher Itamar Shalit, the further actions will be agreed after the clinical trials.

“Once we have an effective vaccine, that will be the time to exit this pandemic situation and return to normal life,” he noted.
