Chairman of Kherson regional council Vladislav Manger is on vacation from November 19 until December 3. However, he intends to interrupt his holiday and resume work since November 26 due to exigency as the press service of Kherson regional council reported.
“We additionally report that the information that Vladislav Manger is the suspect in the case of Kateryna Handziuk does not correspond to reality. The chairman of Kherson regional council along with other leaders of the authoritative bodies in the region was questioned by the investigative organs as the witness,” the message said.
Such statement is the response to the messages of some mass media in which Manger is called “one of the suspects in the murder of Handziuk” and they confirmed that “he escaped from Ukraine”.
Kherson regional council noted that there was no official appeal to the council on the presence of the chairman at the working place during the last week.
The journalists are asked to check the credibility of the spread information more carefully especially in the cases connected with the accusation of people of the commitment of the crimes.
Earlier the local activists reported that Vladislav Manger, the Chairman of Kherson regional council is trying to escape from the country.
On November 23, Telegram channel the Newsroom posted the message said that Manger, the suspect in the murder of activist Handziuk moved to France.
November 4, it became known that Kateryna Handziuk, Adviser of Kherson's Mayor, died aged 34. She was doused with sulphuric acid in July this year. According to preliminary information, the death was caused by thrombus detachment.
Besides, the official reason for the death of Handziuk was specified. It is multiple organ failure and chemical burns.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expressed his condolences in accordance with the death of the adviser. He required the law enforcement bodies to do everything possible to find the murderers and punish them.
On November 12, the court arrested suspect in Handziuk case Igor Pavlovsky, as Ukraine’s Security Service Head Vasyl Hrytsak said. According to him, Pavlovsky was detained not in the capital, yet he was taken to Kyiv.
