The Security Service of Russia (the FSB) has finished the investigation of unlawfully detained Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko, as his lawyer Mark Feygin wrote on Twitter.

According to Feygin, the defence has studied two volumes of the criminal case. The FSB’s version is that Roman was collecting information on Russian military invasion into Ukraine.

The Ukrinform journalist was detained in Moscow on September 30, 2016. He was accused of espionage and has been kept at a detention centre ever since. Ukraine has demanded Russia to free the journalist on multiple occasions.
