Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov

Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov stated that the introduction of curfew in Ukraine is not discussed yet, as Ukraine 24 reported.

“We have never held such talks. The introduction of curfew, if talk within the legal framework, is possible only if the emergency state is introduced in the territory of the country. It has a proper mechanism of introduction of such emergency state, agreement by the Verkhovna Rada, approval by the president and then such measures might be introduced,” Stepanov said.

He also noted that the quarantine restrictions prove their efficiency.

“We have 11 regions in the adaptive quarantine. Based on the situation that we have, our strategy, you can see the efficiency of our plan of the adaptive quarantine because the virus develops in the regions. Firstly, it was Ivano-Frankivsk region, Chernivtsi region; later, other regions were added but at the same time, the situation stabilizes in the first two regions. There is another issue – we need the observation of the existing restrictions. When Kyiv has the red level of epidemical safety but the trade fairs take place at the same time, it is unacceptable,” he said.
