The event was organized within the program on the prevention, readiness and response on the natural and man-made disasters for the countries of the Eastern Partnership PPRD East 1 with aim to strengthen potential of the countries in the civilian security sphere.
Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and three groups from the EU Denmark, Czech Republic ad Romania will take part in the drills.
Also, the group of the international experts on the civilian security, the group of the experts on the estimation and observers from the EU-countries will participate. The Ukrainian team consists of 24 specialists and 6 units of equipment.
The drills will last from September 19 until September 21.
At the moment the Rapid Trident-2017 drills take place in Ukraine and the Moldovan militaries participate in them. Earlier, the Moldovan Government approved the decision that allows the militaries to participate in the drills.
The President of Moldova Igor Dodon prohibited the militaries to take part in the Rapid Trident-2017 drills in Ukraine. He stopped the work of the governmental resolution, insisting that the decision of the participation of the army in the drills beyond the country should be made by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces that is a president.
However, the Prime Minister Pavel Filip urged the parliamentarians to find the way to send the Moldovan contingent to the drills as NewsMaker reported. According to him, the undrilled army is not wanted by anyone’.
