Interior Ministry urges partakers of Equality March, their opponents not to resort to provocations

Interior Ministry of Ukraine urged the partakers of Equality March and their opponents not to resort to the provocations as the press service of the ministry reported.

“We held the meetings with the organizers of the march and understand the scale of it so all detachment of the ministry will come out to the streets for the provision of the security. Our position is unchanged the security of the citizens is on the first place. So the heads at the places should know what they are demanded and they should control the situation at their place. We involve all detachments, Emergency Service, police and dialogue police, to the holding of the event,” Sergy Yarovy, the First Deputy Interior Minister said.

He added that the weather will be hot, according to the prediction and the heads should provide personnel with water and everything necessary.

The ministry also noted that clashes and provocations are unacceptable. “We appeal to all sides with the request not to resort to provocations and act within the law. Constitution is the same for everyone. The tough response will be provided to all provocations and violent repression”.

Head of the National Police Sergy Kniazev noted that dialogue police units from whole Ukraine will work during the march.

“We attract 100 police officers of the dialogue from other region. We should not allow the provocations and conflicts and provide the security of each citizen of Ukraine,” Khiazev reported adding that the law enforcers are ready to communicate with organizers and opponents of the march.

According to Kyiv Police Head Andry Kryshchenko, the police will restrict the access to the territory, where the march will take place. The checkpoints with metal frames will be installed.

“To not admit and to warn the commitment of the possible crimes, we will restrict the access to the place, where the march is going to take place. The sufficient number of the checkpoints with the metal frames will be established to create the free way for the citizens and mass media representatives,” Kryshchenko said.

As we reported the representatives of the Ukrainian LGBT-community recorded a video address to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky where he says that a person is the biggest value of our state and invited him to the Equality March KyivPride which will be held on June 23.
