The level of safety of individuals in Ukraine is gradually increasing and there’s no turning back, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov told in today’s meeting of the ministry.

According to Avakov, the fact that the number of property crimes and crimes that threaten the lives of people are decreasing is a proof of higher safety in Ukraine. Moreover, he says the level of solving crimes and bringing perpetrators to responsibility is also increasing.

Despite the tough criminogenic situation, the level of crime in public spaces and streets has decreased by almost a quarter. The number of car theft incidents has decreased by 27% compared to 2016, Avakov said.

“This means that the level of safety of our citizens is gradually increasing. I am sure there’ll be no reverse process,” Avakov summed up.

Moreover, according to the polls, the level of trust to Ukraine’s Interior services is increasing too, including the trust to the National Guard, National Police, and border guards.
