If President Petro Poroshenko agrees to holding elections in Donbas during hostilities, this will mean losing Ukraine. This was reported by Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of Fatherland party, on air of “112 Ukraine” during “Evening Prime” show.
Speaking about the consequences of holding elections in Donbas before the war ends, Tymoshenko said: “This does not only mean that there will be local authorities, that the elections will be held when tanks, cannons, but not people will be voting. This is not only about placing the terrorists, murderers and people absolutely controlled by Russia on key posts in local councils, local administrations. Not only this. They are saying that Donbas must be reintegrated in Ukraine after these elections. So, after these elections are held during war and Russian Federation seizes all the territory completely, reintegration will bring all this trouble inside Ukraine.”
“If Ukrainian government, president agree to hold elections in Donbas during hostilities, this would mean we have lost Ukraine already,” Tymoshenko added.
