If the result of pension reform turns out to be negative, government should resign. This was reported by Andriy Reva, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, in a commentary to 112 Ukraine TV channel correspondent.
"I believe that as soon as we implement this reform, the government, which has offered the idea, will be responsible for the result, should this result be positive, government is right. If it is negative, it ought to respond with resignation," Reva announced.
It is noteworthy that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft law on pension reform in Ukraine on May 17.
The bill provides for the increase of pensionable service period to 25 years among other things, as well as bringing pension payments up to date. Prime Minister proposed to implement the reform sooner, from October 1, while it was earlier planned to introduce the solution on December 1.
