The Head of Odesa regional administration Mikheil Saakashvili commented on today’s announcement of the President Petro Poroshenko saying that if the President considers him to be a guest in Ukraine, then he is a guest himself. Saakashvili told that during his speech broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“The President made a statement today, so I want to respond. We invited several foreigners to Ukraine… I love Georgians brought here, they justified their presence. Khatia (Dekanoidze, - ed.) work good, though could be much better, the head of NABU works good, Zguladze worked good. They are guests hear indeed,” noted Saakashvili.
"Poroshenko is perfectly aware that if I am a guest, then he is also a guest. We came to Ukraine to study in the University at the same time – he came from Moldova, I came from Georgia. There’s nothing bad in it. He arrived from Moldova, then I arrived from Georgia in two years and we studied together. I am a Ukrainian with the same proven record as he is. And I am grateful that he granted me a citizenship, but I am working it off,” Saakashvili said.
The Head of Odesa regional administration said that he is trying to do “something good” for Ukraine.
Previously Mikheil Saakashvili announced that he is extremely sorry to leave the oblast center.
Earlier Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko commented on the Mikheil Saakashvili's resignation and said that he hopes tomorrow the Government accepts his resignation from the position of the Head of Odesa's regional administration, if he decided to do politics.
As it was reported on Monday, the Head of Odessa's regional administration Mikheil Saakashvili announced his resignation. He said he decided to reside and start a new period of his struggle against corruption in Ukraine.
