President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the number of patients with coronavirus in Ukraine could be from 2 to 10% of the total population in case of quarantine violations during Easter holidays. He said this on ‘Freedom of Speech’ TV show.
"If there is a large congestion, and the wave may appear just after Easter - we can have scary statistics (incidence of coronavirus, - 112 International), from two to ten percent of the entire Ukrainian population," Zelensky said.
He also recalled how in Italy, because of the large number of patients, doctors had to choose whose life to save first, and noted that such a scenario is also possible in Ukraine.
“I’ll tell you frankly: they are already confronting the choice of doctors, Ukrainian doctors, like the way it was ... in Italy. When people were brought in - it was horrible - and the physician was faced with a choice, because he understood that among these ten people he should have choose whom to live ... If there will be from 2 to 10% of [sick] patients, the doctors will choose which of the Ukrainians to live on," the president said.
As we reported before, during the last weeks, over 2,500 tests for coronavirus were held in Ukraine due to numerous pneumonia cases.
