On Thursday, December 10, 163 people were injured due to ice-slick situation in Kyiv. Namely, 150 adults and 13 children. This was announced by the head of the press service of the health department of the Kyiv city state administration, RBC-Ukraine reports.
It is reported that due to rain and low air temperatures, water on roads and sidewalks immediately turned to ice. Because of this, 163 people were injured as a result of falls.
At the same time, over the past day, 72 reports of road accidents were registered.
"During the period of bad weather, 72 traffic accidents occurred on the roads of the Kyiv region," the message says.
As we reported earlier, ice rains that started on December 10 caused a major ice-slick situation in Ukraine. In Kyiv, traffic jams formed in the morning due to ice. Transport runs with a deviation from the schedule.
173 Ukrainian towns in three regions were left without electricity as a result of weather conditions.
The towns and cities were de-energized in the Kyiv (79), Zhytomyr (58) and Chernivtsi (36) regions. Brigades of regional power distribution companies were involved in the restoration of power supply.
