It is offered to include Hutsulska bryndza (sheep milk cheese) in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO. It was discussed during the information and communication platform on the protection of the intangible heritage and support of private and public partnerships as Zakarpattia Regional State Administration reported.
It is noted that the necessity to put Hutsulska bryndza in the National list of the intangible cultural heritage is fully justified – the technology and place of its production should be recognized in Ukraine and abroad. The initiative was discussed by the representatives of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration, the Association of Carpathian head cheesemongers, and representatives of the consulates of Hungary and Poland in Ukraine at Rakhiv Regional State Administration.
The relevant letter of consent of the community to pass the element to put it in the regional list of the intangible cultural heritage with further promoting to the National register and international lists as Chair of the Association of Carpathian head cheese mongers Anatoliy Pavlyuk reported.
“The main result of the meeting is the signing of the document that starts the process of the attribution of Hutsulska bryndza to the National list of the elements of the intangible cultural heritage,” the message said.
The foreign diplomats also supported the initiative.
Particularly, Consul of the Republic of Poland in Lviv Tomasz Kowal wished Zakarpattia citizens success on the way of the implementation of this ambitious intention to put Hutsulska bryndza in the National list of Ukraine and proper registers of the EU.
"National cuisine is an integral part of every culture and tourism," Foreign Affairs Attaché of the Hungarian Consulate General in Beregovo Cizmadia Alexandra said.
Hutsulska bryndza is produced in summer highland grasslands from mountain sheep milk in accordance with the traditions that originate from the Carpathians since the 15th century.
As we reported, the culture of cooking of borscht will enter the list of the intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine. It is noted that it is recommended to include five elements in the National list of the intangible cultural heritage, including the Culture of cooking of borscht.
