Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary informed the Ukrainian Embassy about the rally on October 13 under the slogan “Self-determination for Zakarpattia”. Ukraine sent a note of protest, as Head of Ukraine’s MFA Pavlo Klimkin wrote on Twitter.
“We urgently sent a note of protest with a demand to ban this provocation! We are sure Hungary will continue to respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine,” he emphasized.
Klimkin also wondered whether it meant that Budapest supports separatism.
As it was reported earlier, the Hungarian-Ukrainian relations worsened due to the adopted in Ukraine education law, which makes Ukrainian the language of the educational process in schools. Previously schoolchildren could be taught in the languages of national minorities.
