Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban condemned the defilement of Holocaust memorial in Uzhgorod. It was reported by Zakarpattia daily RIO.

An official appeal about the act of defilement of a Holocaust memorial in Uzhgorod was on site of the Hungarian Government.

The Office of the Hungarian Prime Minister was outraged by the actions of vandals and said it is necessary that we treat all people who died in the Holodomor, Holocaust, World Wars and in Gulag camps with great honor and respect.

It is noted that the Monument to Holocaust victims was established with the support of the Government of Hungary.

In addition, the Head of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Gennady Moskal instructed law enforcement bodies to identify the people who poured paint on the Memorial to Holocaust victims in Uzhgorod.

"The people who did this are ordinary savages who try to cover up xenophobia with patriotic slogans. They are not even able to understand that their actions close a way for Ukraine to civilized Europe and like blind kittens are unconscious allies of Putin," he said.

The Regional State Administration noted that the initiators and executors of this action have no support in Zakarpattia, and that these people are "political outcasts, who hide face behind balaclavas to avoid responsibility".

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine honored memory of Holodomor victims on November 26.
