During the court session, the prosecutor's office insisted on the choosing of the restrictive measure for Ostrovsky in the form of the detention. A prosecutor said that there is a risk of the influence on the participants of the case by threats or bribery and the risk of the covering up of Ostrovsky.
The suspect claimed that he did not attempt to flee site and regrets the accident. He added that now his family is helping the family of the deceased girl. Ostrovsky also said that two kids accidentally ran out in the road that evening: the first one successfully crossed the road and he ran over the second.
Moreover, he expressed the confidence that he drove with "moderate" speed and he does not understand why the car did not stop. According to him, he removed the license plate from the car after the accident to save his relatives.
Ostrovsky said that the risks mentioned by a prosecutor are groundless.
