After the house of Crimean Tatar Renat Paralamov had been searched, masked individuals without credentials took him away in an unknown direction, as lawyer Mammet Mambetov said, according to Krym.Realii.
Contact with Paralamov was lost, his relatives and lawyers can’t locate him. “We went to the FSB agency in Crimea, and the Center on fighting extremism, called local police departments, but we couldn’t find him,” Mambetov said.
He added that activists and lawyers are continuing searches, preparing to address a number of security forces. “An individual was taken away, and nobody knows where he is… People are worried and nervous, they are gathering near his house, want to invite the head of local police department. Lately there haven’t been any abduction cases, and now people are taken away from their houses again,” the lawyer said.
The situation in occupied Crimea is worrisome for Crimean Tatars, as a group of people is accused of alleged participating in a terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, while deputy head of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars Akhtem Chyigoz was sentenced for 8 years of imprisonment.
