House collapse in Drohobych: Six dead found under rubble

Last night, officers of Ukraine's State Emergency Service found three more bodies under the rubble of a house in Drohobych

Thus, six people died as a result of the collapse of the house. This was reported by the press service of the department on Facebook.

"The bodies of six dead were found under the rubble. On the morning of August 28, the bodies of 2 people (a man and woman) were found. The body of a man was found on August 29 at 00:26. At 2:49 a woman’s body was removed from the rubble. At 3:20, another woman’s body. At 03:28, they found a boy’s body," reads the message.

It is noted that now employees are actively dismantling the rubble of the house, special lighting places were organized at night. Work will be continued until rescuers find all the missing people.

The State Emergency Service uses small-scale mechanization and engineering equipment. In total, 470 people and 75 pieces of equipment were involved in the aftermath of the emergency.

In Drogobych, Lviv region, a part of a four-story building collapsed last night. Earlier it was reported that a man and a woman died as a result of the incident, 7 people were taken by rescuers from under the rubble with injuries of varying severity. Among the victims are three children, they are in serious condition. However, another five people may be under the rubble of the house. Such data is provided taking into account the number of registered and the possible number of residents in the apartments.

Now the police determine the causes of the explosion. Among the versions of the event: a gas explosion, redevelopment or the destruction of the foundation due to rain.

On the fact of the collapse, police opened criminal proceedings under part 3 of article 270-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Intentional destruction or damage to housing and communal services").
