Honcharuk discusses Nord Stream 2 with Swedish Prime Minister

Today, December 4, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk met with his Swedish counterpart Stefan Löfven, where he discussed the topic of Nord Stream - 2. The Government portal reports.

“The functioning of gas pipelines in the EU should be carried out in strict accordance with European legislation, in particular the EU gas directive. It is important that EU member states do not make any exceptions to Nord Stream - 2. This is a matter of the region’s energy security and quality of services. in the European energy market," - it was informed.

Honcharuk also raised the issue of bilateral cooperation between the Swedish and Ukrainian governments.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine expressed hope for the support of Sweden in the framework of the assistance strategy for Eastern Europe for 2021-2027. In creating a network of European Integration Offices throughout Ukraine

“Sweden also implemented a similar project when it was on its way to EU membership,” - Honcharuk said.

As we reported, Stefan Löfven said that the process of return of annexed Crimea to Ukraine will be difficult.

He said this during meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, on Wednesday, 4 December.
