His Beatitude Liubomyr Huzar was buried in Kyiv

Hundreds of people came to say goodbye to the former Cardinal of Greek Catholic Church

Liubomyr Huzar, the former spiritual leader and the Cardinal of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, has been buried in Kyiv in the crypt of Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ, according to Radio Svoboda.

Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church informs that about 600 clerics of various eparchies of Ukraine and abroad came to the funeral ceremony.

As it is known, Liubomyr Huzar died on May 31 at the age of 84 after a serious illness. The coffin was taken to Lviv the next day for a farewell. Procession with Cardinal’s body returned in Kyiv on June 3. 

Beyond that, Liubomyr Huzar was not only a leader for Greek Catholics from Ukraine and all over the world, but also an outstanding public personality and philosopher, was one of the initiators of "December First" group.
