About Donbas

Russian armed mercenaries began to conduct a population census in the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions

OSCE reported that disengagement of forces in Donbas would start on October 7. Vadym Prystaiko, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine added that President Zelensky intended to perform the division of forces along the entire division line - after the process will be complete in the designated areas of Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrivske.

About Steinmeier formula

Ukraine accepted the Steinmeier formula on October 1. President Zelensky claimed that the text of the document was released for the public.

The highly controversial bill evoked a protest, with many thousand people demanding to stop the surrender of territories of the occupied Donbas to Russia.

About scandal surrounding Trump's alleged pressure on President Zelensky

This week, Donald Trump said he did not want to give money to corrupt country. He claimed that his July telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky concerned corruption. Trump also wants China to investigate Biden's case.

The Washington Post reported that Trump used Pence to put pressure on Zelensky in Biden case.

Text messages revealed recently show Trump diplomats' internal turmoil over his pressure on Ukraine.

About Tom Cruise visit to Ukraine

This week, Tom Cruise visited Kyiv, Ukraine. Tom Cruise met with President Zelensky and told him he was interested in Ukrainian locations for shooting his film. He came to Ukraine at the invitation of Volodymyr Zelensky.

The legendary Hollywood actor Tom Cruise was spotted in the Kyiv city’s subway on September 30.

Vitali Klitschko arranged helicopter tour over Kyiv for the star guest.

About MH17 case

The Netherlands appealed to Russian Prosecutor's Office regarding the questioning of MH17 witness Volodymyr Tsemakh, who was extradited to Russia in a recent prisoner swap between Russia and Ukraine.

Later, it was reported that MPs of the House of Representatives, which is the lower party of Dutch parliament, asked the government of the country to investigate Ukraine's role in the crash of the MH17 flight in the Donbas more closely.

About PACE

On Septermber 30, it was reported that PACE Presidential Committee would hold the session in Kyiv soon.

Georgia opposes renewal of Russia's voting rights in PACE. Half of Lithuanian Delegation declared boycott to PACE session. Latvia joined the boycott, as well as Poland.

Later, it was announced that Baltic plus group including Ukraine was created in PACE.

About sports

Andriy Shevchenko is considered one of the main candidates for the post of the A.C. Milan head coach. The parties discussed the possibility of his appointment. Shevchenko agrees to lead the Rossoneri, but under several conditions.

On October 5, Ukrainian contender Sergiy Derevyanchenko will take on Gennady Golovkin in a title fight, which takes place at the legendary arena of Madison Square Garden in New York. IBF and IBO middleweight champion titles will be at stake.

Victor Postol gets another shot at the world championship. On February 1, 2020, he is expected to face Jose Ramirez, WBC and WBO unified light-welterweight world champion.
